Overview

Studying here

The Emirates is where a family lands when the goal is an internationally recognised degree and the appetite for a long-haul move is not there. Some of our partners are campuses of universities based elsewhere, awarding the same degree as the home institution; others are locally chartered and accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education. Teaching is in English in both cases.

The practical arguments are visas, distance and familiarity. The student visa route is straightforward compared with the UK, the US or Australia, a parent can visit over a weekend, and the cultural adjustment for a student from Jordan or the Gulf is close to nothing. The regional job market is also on the doorstep rather than a flight and a work-permit application away.

The question to settle before applying is accreditation, and it has two halves: whether the programme is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, and whether the awarding institution is the one you think it is. A branch campus and a franchise arrangement are not the same thing, and the difference matters when the degree comes home for equivalency.
