About the university

Why students choose the University of Manchester

A Russell Group university and one of the largest in the UK, offering an international foundation year into most faculties.

We place students here through a foundation or pathway year, which suits applicants whose grades or English level do not yet meet direct-entry requirements.

Tuition, entry requirements and intake dates differ by programme and change each year. Ask us for the current figures for the course you are considering rather than relying on published averages.

Tawjihi

Because the Jordanian and UK systems differ, students with the Tawjihi must complete a University-recognised foundation programme before starting a bachelor's.

Integrated foundation year

A Tawjihi of 90% or higher, with at least 90% in Mathematics and Physics, is considered for Science and Engineering with an integrated foundation year; Biosciences with a foundation year is considered case by case.

INTO Manchester foundation

A Tawjihi of 85% or higher is considered for the foundation programmes run with INTO Manchester (Engineering and Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Biosciences, Pharmacy and Psychology).

PhD

Jordanian master's degrees from recognised universities, graded Merit or above, are generally considered for PhD entry.

Guidance only: meeting a requirement does not guarantee an offer, and each course sets its own grades and English level. Checked October 2026.
