The UK is where GESCO began, and it remains the destination we know best. The one-year taught master’s is the single biggest draw: a full postgraduate qualification in a third of the time a two-year programme elsewhere would take, which shortens both the tuition bill and the year of living costs that goes with it.
At undergraduate level the picture is more varied. Scottish degrees typically run four years rather than three, and fees differ across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Medicine, dentistry and veterinary science sit in a category of their own on both entry requirements and cost.
We apply to a wide spread here rather than a narrow list, which matters because it lets us build a shortlist with one ambitious choice, two realistic ones and a safe option, instead of pushing every student toward the same handful of universities.
